At-home hair care doesn’t have to be hard if you use the right products, tools and techniques. Check out our ten best hair tips from our amazing stylists.
- Want the just out of the salon blowout? Apply a leave-in conditioner or a heat protectant to your wet hair from root to ends. Then apply a root booster to create lasting volume. Rough dry your hair to about 90% dry and section off your hair and use large round brushes as you blow-dry your hair section by section. Make sure to blow-dry your hair to 100% so there is no frizz.
- When using bobby pins spray on a little hair spray for better hold, and always make sure the rippled side is down.
- Looking for more volume? Add some texturizer or volumizer to the root, then blow-dry your head upside down using your fingers to tousle and add in volume.
- A messy zig zag part helps to hide root growth on colored hair.
- Dry hair looks dull and can break or split easily. To repair dry hair use a deep conditioning masque once a week. Apply the masque and cover with shower cap then heat with the warmth from a hair dryer set on low to allow the product to work deeper into your hair. Let the masque sink in for 10-15 minutes before rinsing.
- When your hair is wet use a wide tooth comb to gently work knots from the ends upwards to avoid over stretching, breakage, and pulling hair out.
- Want healthy hair? Increase circulation by giving yourself a mini scalp massage every time you shampoo, two or three minutes is all you need.
- To avoid weighing down thin hair by applying conditioner to the bottom ¾ of your hair, avoid the roots.
- Master the art of day two and even day three hair with dry shampoo. Dry shampoo absorbs any excess oil and adds texture and volume to roots.
- Keep fly-aways and baby hairs in check by using clear brow fix (with a wand) or applying a little hair spray to a toothbrush and gently brushing on to the problem area.
